Frequently asked questions
- Do you provide discounts on big accounts?
- Please contact us for this.
- How big can my zone be?
- Our system will refuse to add any zone over 200 records. If your zone grows over 200 records after adding it, our system will still accept it. If you would like to add larger zones, please contact us.
- What support can I expect?
- We provide support through e-mail. You can expect a reply within 48 hours - this will often be shorter. We are automatically notified of outages, but due to dependencies on third parties we can not promise a maximum recovery time.
- Do you offer prorated discounts if I cancel a domain after 2 weeks?
- No. All payments are per month. If you remove a domain during a month, you will not get a refund for the unused time.
- You've made an error in my account balance!
- A record is kept of all account balance changes, which you can view after logging in. If you feel an incorrect change has been made, do let us know.
- Do you provide an SLA?
- Not at this time. In case of large outages a one-time discount may be given. Most SLA's don't help you much anyways, because they exclude the most common reasons for outages.
- Where are the DNS servers located?
- Our servers are currently in two locations: ns1.soliddns.net is hosted in Newark, New Jersey, United States, ns2.soliddns.net is hosted in the Netherlands.
- Can I only host domains? Or also subdomains? Reverse zones?
- You can host any DNS zone on Solid DNS.
- How do I deploy this DNSSEC stuff?
- At this time, we don't provide support with deploying DNSSEC, You'll find many resources on this on dnssec.net. Obviously, any problems occurring with the DNSSEC functionality in our servers are handled as service problems.
